[Mar1-2016] Undergraduate Course Highlight: FI2262 Enviromental Physics and Natural Disaster


This course discuss the causes of natural disasters and the environment in terms of physical systems: earthquakes, landslides, tornadoes, tsunamis, droughts and floods and environmental disasters such as global warming, irregular seasons, pollution etc. Management to prevent and cope with disasters.

For the current semester (Sem II 2015/2016), this course is given by Dr. Gunawan Handayani

Topics covered in this course:  Definition and classification of catastrophic disaster. Definition of vulnerability, capacity and risk. Definition of disaster reduction include: readiness and mitigation. Disaster management cycle. Physical cause of the disaster, the spread pattern, consequences and mitigation measures include: physical causes earthquakes, landslides, etc.
