[Feb29-2016] Graduate Course Highlight: FI6261 Special Topics in Complex System Physics

This course discusses mineral and energy resources, mineral reserves, mining method of reservoir fluids, igneous, and also sedimentary rock. Course includes also mineral reserves and metallurgical processing, hydrocarbon reserves, reservoir fluid flow mechanism, the production of petroleum and natural gas, production enhancement techniques or (EOR) hydrocarbon. Volcano physics, geothermal reserves, production systems and geothermal power generation are also presented. Course covers also about introduction of sources of new and renewable energy, including economics of mineral rand energy resources

For the current semester (Sem II 2015/2016) this lecture is given by: Prof. Doddy Sutarno and Prof. Umar Fauzi

 

Topics Covered in this class: Introduction of mineral and energy resources exploitation, mineral reserves of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock, including reserve calculation. Methods of mining, mineral processing and metallurgy processing, preparation of advanced processing, Mineral processing and extractive metallurgy, hydrocarbon reserves, reservoir fluid flow mechanism, petroleum production of oil and natural gas production. How to increase production through steam injection, chemical, and microbial. Vulcano physics, geothermal reserves, reservoir geothermal energy capacity, production systems, geothermal power generation. New and renewable energy sources, Economics of mineral and energy resources.
