[Apr04-2016] Undergraduate Course Highlight: FI3267 Rock Physics


This course discuss the physical properties of rocks, rock microstructure modeling, characterization and estimation of physical properties of rocks, the concept of homogenization and scaling (up-scaling).

For the current semester (Sem II 2015/2016), this course is given by Prof. Umar Fauzi

Topics covered in this course: Rock types, micro-structure of rocks, physical properties of rocks such as porosity, specific surface area, density, modelling of micro-structure of pores, e.g.: random, fractal, molecular dynamics, elastic properties of rocks, permeability, resistivity and dielectricity, homogenization and up-scaling.
